Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Below is a list of some of the most common questions we receive. As you explore the answers below, if you don’t find the answer you’re seeking send us a note! We’d love to hear from you!
How much does it cost?
Full Year of School: Tuition is simple at LCA. We provide a full year’s schedule for $4,000 in tuition. Payment plans are available spread out over 10-months or 12-months, or you can pay for the year in one transaction. Payment plans are chosen during the enrollment process.
Course by Course: Individual courses are available for $1,000 per course per year.
New Students: To begin as a new student with LCA, a $50 application fee is charged for each new student.
How much screen time is required for students?
Screen time is an important subject to understand as we develop our approach for each student at Lenawee Christian Academy. Through our new student enrollment process, parents provide information to inform our mySequence℠ program. Through that information to determine how much screen time is needed for your child. While screen time is required, not all of our content has to be delivered digitally. Here are a few of the ways we incorporate time away from screens:
- Lecture Notes: For all students, lecture notes are always available for each course. Those notes provide the content needed to understand each lesson. Lecture notes are a great way to provide time away from a screen, as they serve as a tool very similar to a text book. Just download, print, and read the content. In addition to reducing screen time, these notes are also a great way to stay engaged in coursework when internet access isn’t available.
- Step-Away Time: A portion of each week, in every course, students will be required to take part in a project, assignment, assessment, or activity that takes place away from a screen. Step-Away Time gives the minds of students a break from typical learning activities and provides an alternative learning experience that is often a lot of fun!
How do the teachers at Lenawee Christian Academy interact with my child?
Not only are our teachers certified and qualified to teach in their subject areas, our teachers LOVE the wonky and wonderful middle school years. In addition to creating the learning content, our teachers serve as guides to your child along their learning journey. Each week, teachers will connect with the students, track their progress, and provide support needed along the way. Students and parents are able to engage teachers about their child’s progress through our communication system, email, or by scheduling time during office hours.
My child has an IEP or 504 plan. Can you provide the necessary accommodations for them?
At this time, we are not able to meet the needs of all students with an IEP or 504 plan. We are continually improving our service to be able to meet the needs of more learners.
What type of schedule for each class can we expect from LCA?
LCA classes are designed for an “at your own pace” style of instruction. There are no designated days or times your child would need to be in class. This affords you the ability to build your schedule to suit your needs.
Can I try out your learning system before we apply?
Absolutely! We encourage every family to experience our demonstration class environment. These “demo classes” are free and are a great way for families to see how our innovative learning environment works. You will have a clear idea of how instruction is received, projects and assignments work, and how we assess student progress. You’ll also be able to experience the fun and engaging ways that we teach! To get started on your class demos, send us a request via our contact us form.

What does "Lenawee" mean?
Our name comes from our county in Michigan, Lenawee. The word is pronounced “LENN-a-way.” The county’s name is believed to have been derived from the Delaware “leno or lenno,” or the Shawnee phrase “lenawai.”
